Andhra fish gravy curry

Ingredients :

  • Fish- 1 kg
  • Onions – 4
  • Green chilli – 5
  • Curry leaves – handful
  • Cilantro – 2 tbsp or as much as u like
  • Red chilli powder – 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt – as per taste
  • Curd – 1 curd
  • Big Lemon size Tamarind
  • Garam Masala powder- 2 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp
  • oil – 3 tbsp

Procedure :

  • Clean the fish well. Wash with raw salt . Marinate the fish adding curd and turmeric. Leave for 10 mins. Chop onion and slice green chilies, soak tamarind in big cup of water for 10 mins to make tamarind pulp.
  • Take a wide pan/bowl and add marinated fish,onion, green chili, red chili powder, turmeric powder ,salt , oil and mix well. Now add tamarind juice and  add a small cup of water for gravy. Place the pan on stove, switch on the stove and cook on high flame for 10 mints.
  • After 5 mins, add ginger garlic paste and cook on low flame until gravy thickens. Add garam masala ,curry leaves and cilantro and cook until gravy thickens.
  • Tasty Andhra Fish gravy Ready. Have it with hot rice.fish

Tip :

  • If you are planning to have this fish curry for dinner, it is always advisable you prepare it in the morning. The more the fish observes the tangy tamarind pulp/water, the more tasty the curry would be.
